Invitation to passenger seat delivery prequalification

Nsb will, as a part of Rolling stock Class 73 Midlife upgrade, either refurbish existing seats, or replace existing seats with new seats. Seat layout will not be altered. a grand total of 2050 bi- and unidirectional double seats and 194 unidirectional single seats should be refurbished or replaced during a period of 15-20 months in 2013 and 2014.
Seat replacement or refurbishment will be part of Scope of work for Midlife upgrader, but nsb will prequalify seat suppliers based on technical and comfort measures.
Seat suppliers which has seats fulfilling attached technical specification is requested to deliver a double seat to nsb for comfort testing. The double seat will be installed in Class 73 and a passenger survey will be conducted to measure passenger satisfaction with seat comfort and functionality.
Based on this survey, nsb will prequalify seat suppliers.
Double seat for testing must be available for nsb, free of charge, within 15 August 2012.
